Say "I do" to sip, savor and flavor on your big day!
Ara and Myla, celebrated their union together this past July and it was such an honor to be a part of their special day! Below is a peek at Ara & Myla's wedding reception hors d'oeuvres and dinner pairings at Ridgeland Mansion with Joshua's Catering, elevating their wedding day with a truly unforgettable experience by bringing me in as their whiskey and food pairing expert.
As someone passionate about whiskey and it's ability to complement, contrast and elevate your caterer's menu, I create unique pairings tailored to your preferences and your guests' tastes. From crafting perfect matches for your hors d'oeuvres to curating whiskey flights that tell a story, I'll help you make your cocktail hour not just a prelude to the celebration, but a highlight your guests will rave about long after your big day!
The lovely couple and their guests not only enjoyed delicious pairings during cocktail hour, but dinner and dessert as well. It was quite the evening and some of the most engaging and fun guests I've met!
The spirits available for guests to sip and savor alone or paired with select menu items were:
Redemption Bourbon
Redbreast 12 Year Irish Whiskey
Toki Suntory Japanese Whisky
Redemption High-Rye Bourbon
Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year Scotch
Bruichladdich Classic Laddie Scotch
Port Charlotte Scotch
Here's just a few of the delicious choices couples had the opportunity to sample:
Roasted red pepper, Boursin cheese and Fig Jam on Crostini ~ paired with Redemption High Rye Bourbon (to compliment the fig jam) and Redbreast Irish Whiskey (to compliment the boursin cheese)
Ahi Tuna Crudo, pickled watermelon, jalapeno, soy ginger on wonton chip ~ paired with Redemption Bourbon (to compliment) and Toki Suntory Japanese Whisky (to contrast)
Grilled Filet with Chimichurri ~ paired with Redemption Bourbon (compliment), Redemption High-Rye Bourbon (contrast), Bruichladdich Classic Laddie or Port Charlotte Scotch (elevate). The crowd favorite was the scotch, especially as they were able to spritz it on top of the steak! One guest said "the smokiness of the scotch put that filet over the top...next level!"
Flavor Tooth had available some delicious late night snack options of tacos or shrimp ceviche. Japanese whisky was being spritz all over those ceviche's and guests loved continuing their pairing right up until the very end of the evening!
If you have any questions about any of these pairings mentioned, or additional pairings I've suggested, feel free to reach out to me and I'll be happy to have a chat!
